The Lahore High Court on Monday, 2 November 2026, directed jail authorities to arrange a meeting between Noreen Niazi, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, and her two daughters on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.
Justice Abher Gul Khan issued the direction while hearing petitions challenging the extension of detention orders of Imran Khan’s sisters Noreen Niazi, Uzma Khan and Aleema Khanum.
Per Dawn and Daily Pakistan, the court ordered Noreen’s two daughters be allowed a one-hour meeting with her in jail at 10am on Tuesday, with the family’s lawyer to submit the meeting application to the Lahore deputy commissioner.
The judge also summoned the Lahore deputy commissioner to appear in person on 4 November 2026 to explain the extension of detention orders of Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan.
The hearing on the petition challenging the extension of Aleema Khanum’s detention was adjourned until next week.
The three sisters were detained in September 2026 under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960 ahead of a planned PTI protest march to Islamabad: Aleema Khanum was detained on 20 September for 30 days, and Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan the following day for the same period; after the initial period lapsed, the Punjab government informed the court the detentions were extended a further 30 days, which the petitioners challenged.
The petitions were filed by Sakeena, daughter of Noreen Niazi, and Shahrez Khan, son of Aleema Khanum; the petitions also raised concerns about Noreen’s medical treatment and access to family members.
